We have been breeding Australian Lowline and Angus beef cattle for many years with the emphasis being on quality. Our foundation females and sire lines have been selected from some of the best genetics across the country.
We believe the Lowline and Angus breed is at the leading edge of the quality beef market for both domestic and consumption and export. Both of our Studs Yarra Ranges Lowline and Wildgrass Angus are assessed MN3. For more information on our Wildgrass Angus Stud please visit www.wildgrass.com.au

AUSTRALIAN LOWLINE HISTORY Lowline cattle were bred and developed in the 1970's by the NSW Department of Agriculture as part of a major research project supported by the Austrlian Beef Corporation.
The foundation research herd were pure bred Angus and can be traced back to the original Aberdeen Angus. The research herd were broken into a few groups depending on their size. Larger sized angus, called 'highline', and smaller sized angus, called 'lowline', were then studied to investigate the implications of growth rate on on herd profitability.
Most newer breeds don't have alot of trial data to back up their claims. Fortunately lowlines have a wealth of information gathered over this 20 year research project.
After the project was completed in 1992 the herds were dispersed at public auction. The lowline herd became the foundation stock for the Australian Lowline Cattle.
Purebred Lowlines have been isolated from outside genetics since 1964 thus producing a uniquely Australian Breed.
